The Story of Blue Tomato
How It All Came To Be
Gardening is in my blood. I have always had a hand or two in the soil while helping my parents with their small gardens. Over the years, I gradually expanded my planting domain by overtaking the veggie gardens and my mom's flower bed. Since then I have continued to pursue my interests with plants.
Blue Tomato was created many years later by accident when the need to be self-sustaining grew too strong to ignore. One day in the late winter, I woke up and thought, “I love planting. We have lots of beautiful flowers but that doesn’t really help us other than aesthetics. Why not grow all the veggies we need?”
That year, I found an amazing non-GMO seed company, set everything up on the three season porch and went for it. Everything grew so well. I ended up with too many tomato plants! There wasn’t enough garden space for them all, but I wanted them to have a loving home. With a little curiosity, I decided to see if anyone would be interested in buying them. It ended up being a huge success!
Every year since then, I have expanded the tomato plant selection and continued to sell extra plants to others. The “plant take-over” is still going strong as I now have a plethora of fruit trees, berry bushes and nut trees as well as bee gardens, a hoop house and a greenhouse in the making.
Blue Tomato Vt provides a variety of annuals and perennials (expanding every year) that are started from seed with organic soil and with lots of love. It show cases the traditional, unique, rare old-world taste and heirloom and hybrid plants. Certified organic seed packets are now available too.
I ensure a continuous selection of fantastic, healthy plants. Check it out and start shopping today.
